In 2016, they shut down Yahoo Games and gave the same stupid vague reason like they later did with Messenger. The reason the Yahoo Games shutdown is significant is because it was a service that made Yahoo seem like a cool place to play games and chat with friends.

Whenever I open a new Chrome window or tab, in both a regular window and incognito window, instead of binging me to the google search page, it brings me directly to the yahoo search page. Whenever I go to do a search it always defaults to Yahoo. Ive gone through all my settings.

I contacted Yahoo! Support, which was a joke, because after several weeks it became clear that they were only interested in pointing fingers at other things that might be causing it, instead of acknowledging the clear design flaw in Yahoo! Mail. I don't see the pop-up in Firefox, but it's still horrifically slow -- worse than in Chrome.
Yahoo is the worst, hacked many times over the years, no concern for security of data or accounts. Anyone still using cox for email needs to stop ignoring things.
