Drew McIntyre won the WWE Championship for a second time after defeating Cody Rhodes this afternoon on SmackDown. Tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown aired live on Netflix internationally from Germany ahead of tonight’s broadcast on the USA Network.

The four qualifying matches on next week’s SmackDown features Randy Orton squaring off against The Miz, Trick Williams facing Matt Cardona, Damian Priest wrestling Solo Sikoa, and Sami Zayn competing against Ilja Dragunov.

After the less-than-stellar state SmackDown found itself in for the better part of 2025, moving the show back to three hours at the onset of 2026 was hardly the correct course of action.
