Dinesh D'Souza to Newsmax: Dems Tried to Rig Alaska Race
A ballot measure in Alaska seeks to repeal the state's use of the voting method.
As Republicans fight to maintain their narrow majority in Congress, they face a unique challenge in Alaska – not from a Democrat, but from an independent commercial fisher and first-time candidate running to flip the state’s lone House seat. Bill Hill, who is an Alaska Native and has worked in education and construction, has positioned himself as a working-class candidate who will fight to make life more affordable for people like himself and...
President Trump is changing his final campaign strategy as Republicans try to close an early-voting gap and hold off Democratic gains in competitive races across the country.Alaska’s tight Senate race is facing new scrutiny after allegations that Democrats helped recruit a spoiler candidate with the same name as the Republican incumbent,
The Justice Department (DOJ) issued dozens of subpoenas in connection with the ballot stacking allegations against Alaska’s Democratic Senate candidate Mary Peltola. On Wednesday, The New York Times reported that Peltola’s campaign was directly involved in recruiting someone with the same name as her opponent Sen. Dan S. Sullivan (R). The presence of a candidate…
Following a bombshell report that Mary Peltola’s campaign secretly recruited a second “Dan Sullivan” to stack the ballot, the DOJ has accelerated its criminal probe into Alaska Democrats. CNN’s Harry Enten breaks down the broader battle for the Senate, exploring how the scandal could impact the Democrats’ path to a majority.
RealClearPolitics co-founder Tom Bevan, on Thursday's "Special Report," discussed the Alaska ballot stacking controversy: "I think it's less the legal argument in Alaska and more the character argument. Mary Peltola has sworn up and down that she had nothing to do with this, and the evidence seems to indicate the opposite. And that race, she is ahead, but only about 1.2 points in the Real Clear Politics average. And so even the slightest bump at the end for the non-decoy Dan, the incumbent senator there, could help get him across the finish line. And that may end up deciding the balance of power in the Senate. And we might not go to bed that night not knowing until that race is counted."
