These aren’t just toys 🪆 They’re a glimpse into Shetland’s rural life in the 20th century. Most of the toys in this case were gifted to us by Ms Ida Daphne Joy Sandison (1929-2020). She was born in Unst and was a descendent of three prestigious families: the Edmondstons, the Saxbys and (of course) the Sandisons. The dolls are on display in the People Gallery in the National Museum of Rural Life. Which, by the way, is a great place to enjoy the changing seasons 🍂 And - even better - your ticket
